Father’s Day-The most Confusing Day in America! (& Maybe the World)

A 20/20 Gospel Centered, Biblically Based Vision of Grace Shaped Manhood for Father’s Day!
Right now, there seems to be unprecedented and even apocalyptic despondency and belittling of men, manhood, and masculinity. But God’s plan always has and always will bring hope, healing and help if we simply follow His plan of love and wisdom of what it means to be a man. Grace Legacy Builders gets to the heart of men to edify people with the gospel, equip men as spiritual leaders, and to encourage guys to build a legacy shaped by grace. This only takes one thing and that’s the greatest miracle recorded over and over again in human history-The Conversion of a lost sinner-man or woman-into a beloved child of God. This leads to rekindled homes, reordered churches, and revival in the culture!
At Grace Legacy Builders we believe God brings revival while we bring repentance. God rekindles homes with the ignition of his word being read. God brings reformation when we respond to His grace with obedience in our churches. Of course, scripture must be believed to be sufficient for time and eternity today! If you’re not a Christian, or one who thinks the Bible is antiquated, I understand pray for the miracle. But, I’d ask all to consider the following problems and solutions. All in the living out the definition that being a Christian man means you: follow Jesus Christ by being a prophet to your family that regularly reads the Bible to them, prays with and for them, and serves them as their servant leader in Christ-like love! Let’s look at some timely application to bring His light to these dark situations.
A. Marriage rate is the lowest in 100 years. (Fox Business News, June 18, 2020)
Marriage is the number one indicator for a child’s mental, social, physical, & economic well-being. We see that throughout scripture that God holds men primarily responsible for following His marriage strategies. From the beginning of “Adam where are you” Gen. 3:9) on to Ezra & Nehemiah who hold the husbands accountable for allowing the unbelieving wife to bring Godless practices into the home and their communities. Yet, The Bible honors women like Rahab and Ruth who are praised for being faithful helpmates to their families upon their conversions. They assist their husbands to do God’s will, God’s way. Men let’s cultivate the soil of the soul of our lineage with a well weeded and fertilized garden, so our legacy is fruitful. (Mark 4:1-25)
We as Christian men must be vigilant in bringing God’s victorious order into our homes so we can consecrate time to teach our children about God. (Psalm 78:5ff, Psalm 127 & 128). God made us men on purpose so that we can fulfill our role as servant leaders to our wife and children. We are called to keep watch over them, stand firm with and for them, act like men that protect and provide for them, and be strong and physically present in a Christ-like love over all things. (I Corinthians 16:13-14) How are we doing, men? Let’s infused His hope into our ecosystem.
B. Kids growing up in churched homes are dropping out of church.
This is according to attendance and membership records across almost all socio, ethnic, (except the black community which is doing much better than others) economic, and denominational categories. But, look at the following 3 correction that I’d ask Dad’s to consider taking on this Father’s Day! Baran’s 3-year study pinpointed 3 key practices to “build a spiritually vibrant homes”:
1-Apply Spiritual Disciplines of Praying & Reading the Bible Together
every day or two and reading the Bible weekly all together.
• We at GLB encourage Dads to take “The 20/20 Challenge” of reading the Bible, 20 minutes a day, 20 times a month while you pray with and for your family.
2-Engage in Spiritual Conversations—Talk about God and faith</h3? at least weekly all together.
We ask Dads,
• Have your kids every heard your testimony?
• Do they know how Jesus Christ took you as a sinner and that Jesus will take them too by grace when they simply believe.
• Dad’s, how about sharing your favorite Bible verse and tell your family why?
• Ask your family who their favorite Bible character is or their favorite verse and why?
These conversations are important and beneficial. After David-a man after God’s own heart had brought the ark to Jerusalem and participated in public worship, he and his mighty men went to their own homes and lead the family worship. (1 Chronicles 16:43)
3-Extend Hospitality—Welcome non-family guests regularly
at least several times a month.
• Having a family meal together does wonders- inviting others over is winsome.
The Barna study shows it is relevant. Biblical faith needs to be expressed in tangible ways.
“The qualities of these vibrant households where faith is nurtured in a beautiful, lasting way, are obtainable for any household—no matter the size or make up,” says LHM President & CEO Kurt Buchholz. “Any spiritually dormant household can become, over time and with intention, a spiritually vibrant household of faith.”
Dad’s we believe that the Bible defines mature manhood as following Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest, and King and responding by reading the Bible to our family, praying with and for them regularly, and singing to Jesus as we lead them to both private family worship and corporate worship.
As Christian’s who believe in the miracle of the Gospel, our ministry is to equip you as a spiritual leader to mature manhood in Christ. Which, blossoms to all kinds of blessings and stops all kinds of devastation. Both in time and eternity!
